Having developed a deep fascination with the notion of nature sports such as rock climbing and surfing, Sandy Hsu became deeply enamoured with the act of devoting oneself to a craft, for life.
Endless Summer is a lyrical meditation on purpose and drive. Everything is nothing and nothing is everything. Continuing on from her last two singles, Mother (2020), and Sun Moon Lake (2021), Sandy’s songwriting continues to explore questions of existentialism and beauty.
After reading ‘Grit’ by Angela Duckworth, while having also developed a deep fascination with the notion of nature sports such as rock climbing and surfing, she became deeply enamoured by the act of devoting oneself to a craft for life. Not just through sports, but with art and music, humans seek to develop meaning and connection between themselves and the natural world.
Endless Summer was co-produced by Emma Kelly, also known as Happy Axe. Her ability to build expansive worlds through experimental strings and samples is entrancing and unique.
